Cherry -Pecan - Orange Cake

I baked this cake just few hours ago .  Originally this recipe calls for cranberries but since I can’t get any, I’ve used cherries that I’ve harvested from my garden instead .  This is our 20th bake for  The Home Bakers hosted by Joyce of Kitchen flavour .  This recipe is chosen by  Maria of Box Of Stolen Socks , from Lou Sheibert Pappas ‘s cookbook Coffee Cake that currently we’re baking  .

I’ve baked the full recipe of this cake & reduced the sugar to half & used fresh orange juice too .

  6. Hi Kit,
Fresh cherries from your garden? You really never fail to make me so envious of your garden produce.
Making again today? Can I come over? I'll just pick and munch on your fresh cherries as you are making this cake, just pretend I'm not there! Haha!
Yes, this is one lovely cake, my son love it, he ate the most even though the cranberries are quite sour!
Hope you have a great and delicious weekend!

  7. Kit, that looks like a lovely cake all crammed with cherries and lots of pecans! I wish I can have cherries in my garden. They are so expensive over here. This cake must be especially good for you to bake another one again :)

  12. Oh so yummy looking Kit. I can certainly understand why it wouldn't last long in the house with the kids. I did know you had cherries growing too.

I use to have Cherry Tree in my other house. Fresh cherries are oh so good. I'm glad you used them rather than cranberries.

Thank you so much for sharing...

P.S. The letter N is all yours!!! I can't wait until the Picnic Game!!! And bring the kids:)

  13. Hi Kit,

I miss eating cherries... We had lots when we were in US. Now being back to the wintery Melbourne, we have to wait another 4-5 months to enjoy more fresh cherries... *clock ticking* :p

Your cherry version of this cake looks wonderful. Definitely a keeper recipe for both the cake and cranberry versions.
